First Friday has arrived!

We’ve been around long enough to remember life before First Friday (this month is the art and street festival’s 10th anniversary … and our 12th!), so you can believe us when we say it is truly amazing how this event has grown, particularly during the past year. Setup now starts the day before to accommodate the tens of thousands of people who come into downtown Las Vegas each month, and there truly is something for everyone. Las Vegas has never seen a festival this successful outside of the 1970s heyday of Helldorado, when that western festival brought almost the entire community together. If you haven’t been yet, tonight is going to be big one, so leave yourself plenty of time and wear shoes made for walking!

At the Soho Lofts building, Hoover Avenue will be buzzing with activity, including our signature B4 First Friday event, Bubbles, Braids, Buns & Blowouts (6:30-9pm), as well as the opening of an exhibit by the Vegas Vernacular Project at Amanda Harris Gallery, right next door to us. This cool project aims to photographically document all the old, (mostly) hand-painted signs around downtown before they are lost to progress. So, please, stop by Soho Lofts tonight, and join us for a street’s worth of activity!
